KARACHI: What better way to celebrate the end of Ramadan than with a movie on Eid? If you’re someone who doesn’t want to spend Eid entertaining relatives and wants a laid back celebration then look no further than your nearest cinema! Here are some of the Pakistani movies releasing on Eid-ul-fitr 2023!
Money Back Guarantee
To kick start the release of Eid movies this season is the highly anticipated Money Back Guarantee
. The heist movie boasts an impressive cast which includes Fawad Khan, Wasim and Shaniera Akram, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Hina Dilpazeer, Javed Sheikh, Ayesha Omar and Mirza Gohar to name a few. The movie’s plot is pretty simple, a group of people who are done being used and abused by the system are out to get revenge. As the voiceover explains, “Up until now, we have been looted, lied to and murdered. But now we will take revenge by looting, lying and killing. Because real power does not lie in the pen, gun or political parties. Real power is wealth.”

Money Back Guarantee has been directed by Faisal Qureshi and has been a project that spent two years in the making and has a fair mix of action, humour (in the form of some dad-jokes) and suspense.
Huey Tum Ajnabi
If you’re looking for a tear jerker then this historical romance is one of the Eid movies of 2023 for you! Written by Kamran Shahid, the movie is a dramatized view of the fall of Dhaka. It has history, it has romance and it has a whole lot of drama.
Huey Tum Ajnabi stars Mikaal Zulifiqar and Sadia Khan in the lead roles as two lovers whose story is changed because of the fall of Dhaka. Also starring in the movie are Samina Peerzada as Indira Gandhi, Adnan Jilani as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and Mehmood Aslam as Sheikh Mujib Ur Rehman. Needless to say, the movie will be a nice break from the usual romantic comedies we often have no option but to watch.
Daadal
Abu Aleeha
doesn’t hold back when it comes to portraying violence on screen and so if an action thriller is what you seek, Daadal might be a good option to consider.
Starring Sonya Hussyn
as Haya Baloch, a female boxer from Balochistan, Daadal in its trailer introduces us to the feisty female lead. Haya is nothing short of a gangster who ends up killing a big shot. Shamoon Abbasi, as Pasha, plays the role of a gang leader who wants revenge from Haya and anybody who is on her side. From punches to head shots, the movie is not one for the faint hearted.

Dorr
If you run out of options on Eid and you don’t mind watching low budget movies then Dorr can be on your list. Super violent, the movie follows a husband on a quest to save his wife from goons. Ill fitted gowns, mediocre chemistry and a whole lot of physical violence, one can only watch Dorr to pass a verdict on it!
Which one of these Eid movies of 2023 will be worth our money? Only time and a movie ticket will tell!
