KARACHI: Sarah Khan has been one of those Pakistani actors in recent time who have a continuously growing fan following regardless of how often they appear on our screens or not. While we did see her in the super hit Ramadan special Hum Tum, fans of Sarah Khan would be delighted to know that the actor is back with yet another primetime drama. Starring alongside Talha Chahour this time, who made his magnificent debut with Jo Bichar Gaye, Khan will be seen in Hum Tv’s Wabaal.

The first teaser of the drama presents Sarah Khan as a fraud, someone who belongs to a rich family and receives jewellery and property from her partner as gifts. But in reality, she belongs to a middle class family and travels in rickshaws and bikes. Chahour seems to be playing her love interest, a sweet and simple man who is head over heels for her. Playing Khan’s sensible and more down to earth sister in the drama is Merub Ali, who also last appeared in a Ramadan special, Paristan.

Written by Qaisera Hayat and directed by Amin Iqbal, Wabaal is portrayed as a story of curse, despair and destruction. From the teasers released so far, Sarah Khan’s character seems to be the one leading herself and her loved ones towards destruction. While we have seen characters based around complexes and deceit before, it will be interesting to see what new Wabaal has to offer.
