KARACHI: It only took a little around ten years for The Legend of Maula Jatt to finally get a release date
but it is finally here and so is its trailer. The re-telling of Yunus Malik’s 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt will feature quite a star studded cast which includes the likes of Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Gohar Rasheed, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malick. Here is all that we have learnt since the trailer dropped for The Legend of Maula Jatt.
Directed by Bilal Lashari, the official synopsis for the movie
reads as, “From times untold where legends are written in soil with blood, a hero is born. Maula Jatt, a fierce prizefighter with a tortured past seeks vengeance against his arch nemesis Noori Natt, the most feared warrior in the land of Punjab. Loyalties are challenged and families torn apart in this epic tale of truth, honor and justice.”
The two and a half minute trailer promises a whole lot of drama, action and romance as a part of The Legend of Maula Jatt. Right in the opening scene we hear a woman dramatically cry out about how she could never have imagine that her son would be the angel of death for her entire village. And as the story unravels we learn that Maula Jatt, after years of imprisonment, is out to seek revenge against those who wronged him. Especially against Noori Natt, played by Hamza Ali Abbasi whose performance will be an interesting one to witness as the antagonist.

If there is one thing we can tell from the trailer, it is that the movie is not one for the faint hearted. Lots of violence will ensue especially in the action scenes. But there is also quite a bit of romance. We see our favorite on screen couple, Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, make their comeback and we also see more risqué scenes of Humaima Malik as her character attempts to lay down her own traps. Politics, rivalries, love and deceit will keep us on the edge of our seats whilst watching the movie!

Also returning to the world of acting with The Legend Of Maula Jatt is Faris Shafi
while Gohar Mumtaz’s performance will also be one to keep an eye out for.
Set to release on October 13, we cannot wait for the movie to finally hit the screens!
