Ahad Raza Mir to star in BBC One’s World on Fire


KARACHI: Pakistani actors continue to wow audiences with their talent, not just at home but abroad as well. Ahad Raza Mir is a recent addition to the list of actors who are making a name for themselves in Hollywood. It was recently announced that the actor will be joining the cast of the BBC One war series World on Fire.

Ahad Raza Mir recently made his Hollywood debut with the Netflix original TV series Resident Evil and his second stint is in the British war series. Starring as Rajib, Mir will be sharing the screen with the likes of Mark Bonnar and Gregg Sulkin.

Created by Peter Bowker, Rachel Bennette and Matt Jones and set in October 1940, the series tells the story of World War II, “Through the eyes of ordinary people whose lives have been thrown into chaos”. The official synopsis for the second season reads, “Lone pilots are sent to destroy German bombers prowling the skies above Manchester as the Northern Blitz begins. The second season for World on Fire, which won the TV Choice Awards for Best New Drama, was delayed because of the pandemic. The new season is being shot in Northern Ireland though a release date has not been announced yet.
