KARACHI: In a country that has an obsession with fair skin and a prototype for what women should look like, there is one person who has unapologetically broken away from those expectations. Bina Khan is perhaps one of the most well known makeup artists in the industry. One look through her Instagram page and one can gage how she celebrates all kinds of beauty. Be it light or dark skin, straight hair or curly hair, she sees beauty in all the women around her.

Just recently, the makeup artist launched her cosmetic brand called Just B Cosmetics. The brad currently has a wide range of lipsticks and what makes these lipsticks so great isn’t just how unique the shades are, but the fact that they suit every skin tone! Along with the lipstick collection, Bina Khan and Just B cosmetics also launched a campaign called #JustMe.

Speaking to Cutacut about the campaign, Khan explained, “We are all about celebration! People are so unique, so driven, so awesome! These last years especially have taught us what human resilience can achieve, how creativity is essential and growth is always possible.” And so the campaign sets out to celebrate “People who have contributed to setting the bar for excellence, for widening the conversation or for blazing a trail for others to follow. They’re unapologetically, beautifully compelled to just be who they are.”

#JustME features the likes of Sanam Saeed who is described as, “Anyone who has seen her perform has been drawn in by her relentlessly magnetic stage presence. And cameras, of all kinds, simply just love her.”

Since the campaign is all about celebrating achievements, it only makes sense for Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy to be included. After all, she is “Absolutely unafraid to stand for what is right, and to get into the fray, Sharmeen’s growth has been an amazing feat to witness.”

Actor Marina Khan has also been featured in the campaign, “With her iconic short hair, and her trailblazing portrayal of young women exploring their purpose, expressing their doubts and realizing their ambitions, Marina gave voice to the experience of Pakistani women.”

Nimra Bucha is the fourth feature of the campaign that celebrates her talent as an actor. “Her performance as “Batool” in Churails was much loved and lauded and audiences couldn’t get enough of her, whether it was her beautiful, deep voice or the impossible angles of her face.”

We might be a bit biased when we say our favorite feature of the #JustMe campaign is Cutacut’s very own CEO, Sara Siddiqui! Bina Khan summed up what Cutacut is about in the best way possible. “With stories that don’t shy away from the uncomfortable but instead start conversations about topics that remain largely unaddressed in the mainstream media, Cutacut gives us a conscientious nudge to think about our impact on and our relationship with our world,” the makeup artist shared.

We couldn’t agree more with what Bina Khan had to say about our CEO, “We are better humans for reading what Sara and her team have to share, and uncomfortable blowback doesn’t diminish her determination.”
