KARACHI: It seems as though historical narratives are going to be dominating our screens for a while. Just recently ARY Digital announced it’s new telefilm called Hangor based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Now, it seems as though Geo TV is not far behind with their new drama Jo Bichar Gaye. They left feelers for their historical drama with teasers that had no sound but promised an intense storyline and the trailer confirmed just that. Here’s what we know about the new drama starring Maya Ali and Wahaj Ali.

Jo Bichar Gaye will see Maya Ali and Wahaj Ali as the leads sharing the screen with the likes of Talha Chahour and Nadia Jameel in the upcoming drama. Based on true events it seems as though the historical drama is set during the 1971 war with clashes that led to the fall of Dhaka. With hostilities on both ends, our lead actors will find themselves in the middle of conflict each fighting for the cause they believe in but they might not always be on the right side of history. Maya Ali from her get up seems to be a performer of sorts from East Pakistan who doesn’t agree with the revolt and in one scene is seen accusing a man of being a murderer for inciting the revolt.

Written by Ali Moeen and directed by Haissam Hussain, Jo Bichar Gaye is set to hit the screens on Sunday, 12th December. While the drama promises to be intense it will probably also be heartbreaking as are most historical dramas. Here’s to hoping that Maya Ali and Wahaj Ali do justice to their roles in their new drama.
