Witness in Meesha Shafi/Ali Zafar case feels pressured to withdraw support for Meesha

Leena Ghani reports that she has been harassed by the FIA over the past few months

KARACHI: Makeup artist and co-organiser of the Aurat MarchLeena Ghani has claimed that the Federal Investigation Agency has been harassing her since the past two months in relation to the sexual harassment case that was filed by singer Meesha Shafi against actor Ali Zafar. Ghani was one of the first to show her support for Shafi and also testified in court as one of her witnesses.

According to a report by Geo News, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to stop harassing witnesses in this case. Ghani’s legal counsel has also suggested that the FIA has been ‘abusing authority’ in attempts to shorten Shafi’s witness list.

Further proceedings are set to happen on the 26th of September, 2019.

Ghani has received unwavering support on Twitter for speaking out against the treatment she has had to endure by the FIA and for her resilience.
