KARACHI: Can anyone name a better duo than Anwar Maqsood and Dawar Mehmood? Probably not. Which is why there has been quite the hype ever since it was announced that the two were teaming up again for a brand new Kopykats Production titled Saadhay 14 August. With the teaser trailer out for the stage play, we know that the final part of the trilogy, which fans waited for for over a decade, will get us right in the feels!
The dramatic trailer begins with Winston Churchill addressing the members of parliament and says, “Members of the constituent assembly, I’ve a message, in accordance to the king, to deliver to you today.” Then we get to hear Quaid-e-Azam's
voice as he declares, “We want the division of Hindustan into India and Pakistan because that is the only practical solution.” And then to add to the dialogue is Mahatma Gandhi’s voiceover claiming to be “A soldier, though a soldier of peace. It is complete independence that we want.”

The voiceovers overlap with a drop of blood that goes on to become a stream of blood that flows through mountains and fields accompanied by explosions and the sounds of people screaming in agony. Drowned in the screams are indistinct voices of political leaders as they make speeches. However, admist the chaos is one voice that clearly states, “Hindu India and Muslim India must be separated.”
