KARACHI: Haunting of Bly Manor is the next-in-line series by the creators of Haunting of Hill House which was released on Netflix in 2018. The trailer of the upcoming series was released recently by the streaming giant.
The trailer showcases a corner in a basement where a doll seemingly “awakens” sitting in a pile of other dolls. A woman’s voice tells the viewers that she has a “ghost story” to share. The trailer has an eerie essence to it with a child’s voice humming a creepy tune, a woman emerging from a foggy lake at night and a seemingly dead body floating in the lake later on. Amelie Bea Smith’s character shushes someone who was humming all along.
This new season has Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy behind it. Set in 1980s England, it shows a young American nanny, played by Victoria Pedretti. She gets hired to care for Henry Wingrave’s (played by Henry Thomas) orphaned niece and nephew.
After moving into Bly Manor, she soon learns how things are much darker beneath the surface. For example, the previous caretaker of the kids died tragically within the premises of the manor.
Haunting of Bly Manor stars Rahul Kohli as the estate’s chef, Owen, Amelia Eve as the groundskeeper – Jamie; and T’Nia Miller as the housekeeper, Mrs. Grose. These characters are set to explore the dark secrets of the manor and how those who have died there haven’t truly gone. The cast also includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel and Tahirah Sharif.
Inspired by the supernatural stories of Henry James titled “The Turn of the Screw“, Haunting of Bly Manor is all set to give you bone-chilling encounters with horrors that do not just include paranormal entities.
