KARACHI: Veteran actor Durdana Butt passed away earlier today at the age of 83. While the cause of her death is yet to be confirmed, the actor is said to have been on the ventilator for a few days before she passed away. Having contributed to our entertainment industry with phenomenal performances in Fifty Fifty and more recently Balu Mahi, Ruswai and Dugdugi, the loss is a major one for our country. Recognizing the same, multiple celebrities from the entertainment industry took to social media to remember the late actor.
Khalid Malik was one of the first individuals to break the news of Durdana Butt’s death to the public.

Senior artist Khaled Anam also informed his followers about the passing away of Durdana Butt along with details of her funeral.
Amongst others to dedicate a post to the late actor was Rehan Sheikh who wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Durdana Butt – Doodi Aapa – the most loving and kind human being colleague friend Senior Actress and a Legend. Deepest condolences to family friends and loved ones. Inna lilahe wa inna elahi rajaoon….RIP.”
Ahmed Ali Butt and Sonya Hussyn also took to Instagram to express their grief. “Durdana Apa was one of the shining stars of our field and her work will always be remembered. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Hussayn wrote about the industry legend.
Ahmed Ali Butt recalled his time when he was the late actor’s student. “Your humour, compassion and empathy is how I will always remember you by,” he wrote about his teacher.
Writer Saji Gul of drama serial O’Rangreza fame also remembered the late actor in a Facebook post.
