KARACHI: As the quest to find justice for the grisly murder of Noor Mukadam continues, a recent update about the case was shared with the public. It was announced that all the suspects involved in the case, including the parents of the accused, have been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The decision to place the suspects on the ECL to bar them from flying was announced by the Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed. In a news conference held in Islamabad, the Interior Minister explained that the decision to place the suspects on the ECL had been made earlier this week in a meeting held to discuss the progress of the case.

In another update in the murder trial, parents of the accused, Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee were presented before the district and sessions court in Islamabad after the conclusion of their judicial remand. However, Judicial Magistrate Naseer Uddin decided that their judicial remand would be extend further until the 23rd of August. Both parents have also been denied bail on two occasions  and thus, were sent back to Adiala Jail. Both Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee have been accused of trying to “save their child on the basis of dishonesty” and are an integral part of the murder trial.

At present Zahir Jaffer remains the only suspect in the actual murder of Noor Mukadam.  Other suspects involved in the case include two men who worked in the house who witnessed Mukadam trying to escape but did nothing to help her.
