Dhoop Ki Deewar trailer is here and we’re excited

KARACHI: The highly anticipated Zee5 series Dhoop Ki Deewar just released its trailer and 25th June can not come fast enough. The trailer is as exciting as fans expected it to be when the teaser came out and plays brilliantly on our emotions. The trailer for the war centered series promises love, tears, politics and a whole lot of drama. So, here’s what we’ve gathered about the Zee5 series from the trailer.

Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly play Vishal and Sara, two young adults living on either side of the border – brought together by tragedy. Both of them lose their fathers in the Pakistan and India conflict and both have to learn to come to terms with the tragedy. But that is easier said than done and each turn to the other to throw the blame. While both hail their fathers as war time heroes, their narratives about the same incident are worlds apart. Their hate for each other is fueled by politics and decades old animosity between the two nations, and overpowers the very fact that both  of them are suffering through an unimaginable loss and are, as a the trailer puts, “united by grief.”

What we learn from the Dhoop Ki Deewar trailer is that the two eventually form an unlikely friendship and, as Ahad Raza Mir wrote on Instagram, “war left them with loss, but they are ready to turn a new leaf.” However, as they manage to navigate through the pain , they have to face a new obstacle. While the cloud of hate between the two of them dissolves, it is still very much intact for both their families. Will their families ever understand that their pain and suffering is the same?

Dhoop Ki Deewar is all set to release on the 25th of June. Beyond Pakistan’s favorite couple, the series will star Savera Nadeem as well as real life couple Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai, among others, in key roles.
