KARACHI: Have you ever messaged your favourite celebrity just for the sake of it? With millions of followers, do these celebrities even read every message that comes their way? Apparently, one celebrity does. Not only does Anoushey Ashraf read the DMs that flood her Instagram account, she also acknowledges them and shares her favourites with the world!

In what Ashraf stated was ‘a very spontaneous post’, the artist shared screenshots of some of the messages that she has received from women around the world. “MEN compliment me and it certainly feels great. But when women compliment me, it uplifts my spirit and soul,” she wrote in the caption.

MEN compliment me and it certainly feels great. But when women compliment me, it uplifts my spirit and soul. These messages have come to me over the last two days from ladies around the world. They specially wrote to me to appreciate me and give me love. They took the time out to let someone know they’re talented and inspiring. Non physical compliments also feel so good sometimes. I feel like I have a bigger support system of sisters I haven’t even met but want each of them to know how grateful I am for you. Women do not always pull each other down. They do not always get jealous of each other. These are mere misconceptions. People dislike one another, people are sometimes jealous of one another, irrespective of their gender. These messages are proof. To the men who love me and my work, I’m so very thankful for you. To the women who do the same, I wish I could hug each of you. This means a lot. Hiding names of these gorgeous women because I haven’t taken their consent, this is a VERY spontaneous post. ❤️❤️❤️#sisters #womensupportingwomen #bestfeeling

While some fans had replied to her Instagram stories and appreciated her doodles, others complimented her smile and sent her prayers. A few others, let Ashraf know that she is an inspiration to many. “Hi Anoushey, sending this message as a thank you and letting you know that you are an inspiration to many. Specially when it comes to travel. Would love to meet you someday,” wrote one woman who was perhaps referring to the posts that Ashraf has been sharing from her recent trip to Turkey.

One Big Tick off the bucket list!! I first saw #Cappadocia pictures in my life several years ago and knew instantly that I must visit this town at least once in my life. Plans were made, plans were cancelled, other places were visited but somewhere at the back of my head, a little voice gently reminded me often enough ‘we’ve got to see cappadocia and ride them balloons one day’ it said. It’s true, if you think it and want it bad enough, the entire universe conspires to make it happen for you. With Covid-19 causing havoc around the world, I just prayed often that even though the worst has hit us humans, life is still fragile, short and worth living as much as you possibly can. I’m lucky, thankful and forever in awe of how God responds to your heart, for indeed He knows you better than yourself. This time, it was rather spontaneous and plans were made very quickly and here I am many years later, on a balloon… thanking our planet for providing me breathtaking views and letting me interact with her in so many different ways. Thank you Cappadocia! Forever in my heart. #travel #adventure #hotairballoon

Aurat hi aurat ki dushman hoti hai” (a woman is another woman’s enemy) is a common saying in Pakistan. However, Anoushey Ashraf disagrees and aimed to clear these misconceptions about women through her Instagram post. “Women do not always pull each other down. They do not always get jealous of each other. These are mere misconceptions. People dislike one another, people are sometimes jealous of one another, irrespective of their gender,” she expressed.

Ashraf ended the note by thanking her fans, men and women alike, for appreciating her work.
