KARACHI: Industry veteran Marina Khan does not need any introduction. She has incredible roles and projects to her name that fans remember even to this day, decades after they first aired onscreen. Currently, she is starring in ongoing drama serial Aulaad alongside Mohammad Ahmed, Sunita Marshal, Furqan Qureshi and others. As always, she is impressive in her role of a mother suffering due to the changing attitudes of her grown-up children. To one’s surprise, a rather pleasant one, she is returning to the director’s seat for an upcoming project. Having directed popular TV series including Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat, Takkay Ki Ayegi Baraat a few years ago, Marina Khan is all set to direct a drama.

According to a fan page, the drama, titled Pardes, is being produced under the banner of Six Sigma Plus Production while it features an ensemble cast. Names mentioned on the poster surfacing on the internet include Gohar Rasheed, Sarmad Khoosat, Affan Waheed, Bushra Ansari, Dur e Fishan Saleem and Sharmeen Ali. Reports also suggest that it is expected to be shot in Turkey or Europe while we still await details on the plot and themes. Nonetheless, it is exciting to have Marina Khan donning the director’s hat once again for the upcoming drama. She will also be seen in Qasim Ali Mureed’s film Tich Button that marks Urwa Hocane’s debut as a producer.
