KARACHI: Krispy2Go, fast food restaurant in Karachi, opened up a new branch in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Saturday. The launch was a special one and caught everyone’s attention. Krispy2Go, in collaboration with Inheritors of Karachi – a social welfare organization, invited street children to inaugurate their new branch. From cutting the ribbons at the entrance to eating together inside the restaurant, the occasion was wholesome and had the children smiling throughout.

While neither of the organizations had publicized the launch prior to the opening, the word very quickly spread around the country. People from all over Pakistan appreciated the act and applauded Krispy2Go for their thoughtfulness. However, Muhammad Azeem, the CEO of the franchise did take to social media to speak on behalf of his team.
“We don’t do this for publicity; it’s an honest approach to give a moment of happiness to underprivileged children. We have done similar drives in the past as well. We have invited such kids to our other restaurants and we also did many visits to centres where special kids are living there lives. Yes, this is our first attempt to do the opening with Street Kids but we have many such initiatives in the development phase in which we will collaborate more in such activities. This is to create awareness of such actions in the society as we believe that every little step is important in its own space,” wrote the CEO.
The gesture by the organizers has definitely inspired many people and will hopefully act as a stepping stone towards a more inclusive and accepting society. The Gulshan-e-Iqbal branch of Krispy2Go is operational now.
