KARACHI: Muniba Mazari does not need any introduction. Known as the ‘Iron Lady of Pakistan’, this woman has become an inspiration for many despite all odds. Nothing stopped her from becoming who she is today, not even a major accident, at the age of 21, that left her with severe injuries. On a wheelchair since twelve years, Muniba Mazari is setting examples left, right and centre. In a recent YouTube video, the inspirational woman shares some powerful lessons she learnt through the years on a wheelchair.
#WomanCrushWednesday: All the women you need in your life
Embrace what transforms you
“I have learnt that accidents can happen. Accidents will happen. But, those accidents that are so powerful and strong that they change your DNA. Accidents which may somehow deform your body but they transform your soul are not just accidents. They are blessings in disguise. Because they transform you into the best version of you. So, embrace those accidents,” quotes Muniba Mazari.

Life is unpredictable
“In these 12 years, I have learnt that life is so unpredictable. Life is full of unwanted, unexpected series of events. How in the blink of an eye everything changed. How in the blink of an eye my life changed. And, how in the blink of an eye I changed. I learnt that, with all these changes, you become a better person every single day. What life did to me does not define me. But what I became in return, regardless of all the hurt, turmoil and adversity, defines who I am. Today, with a heart full of contentment, I am blessed to be where I am,” quotes Muniba Mazari.

Read people around you
Mazari shares, “I have learnt that this wheelchair has somehow given me insight. I can read people. There are three types of people I have met so far.
- People when they see you facing adversity and your trauma in life, they just walk away. I respect them for being truthful.
- People who try to tag along with you, I call them opportunists. These people are so weak that they just try to remain in your shadow. Because they know your strength. Liberate yourself by setting them free. When wrong people leave, right things start to happen.
- People who don’t claim that they are your people. You will always find these people standing next to you. Always there with you, for you. People whose hearts are full of unconditional love for you. These are your people. You should value these people.”

Pain is not your weakness
“I have learnt that pain is not your weakness. Pain is your strength because with the pain, comes healing. Healing does not come to you, it comes from you, through you. So, today, if you are in pain, congratulations! Because you are on a journey of becoming an empath, a person who can feel the pain for others and heal the world. It all starts from this one tiny acceptance of embracing the pain. It is okay to be sad and vulnerable because it all makes you a human,” quotes Muniba Mazari.

Giving up is not an option
“We live in a world where you will be questioned for being nice and kind. But they will never judge you or question you for being cruel. Don’t let these people teach you to hate. Be kind anyway. Work on yourselves and try to be a better person every single day. These 12 years could not tell me how my story will end. I don’t know how my story will end. Maybe, some stories just never end. But, no one in my text you will ever read that I gave up,” quotes Muniba Mazari.
