KARACHI: Robert Pattinson has been tipped as the next Batman in the forthcoming superhero film, scheduled to release in 2021, sources told Variety.
Although the casting isn’t official yet, Pattinson is said to be the top choice.
The superhero was last portrayed by Ben Affleck.
Pattinson, 33, is perhaps most known as Edward Cullen, the 100-something-year-old vampire in Twilight. Before that he played the beloved Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter franchise.
Pattinson has four films opening this year – Claire Denis’ High Life, Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, The King for Netflix and Waiting for the Barbarians.
He has also been cast in a lead role in an upcoming top-secret movie from Christopher Nolan, who coincidentally is a former Batman director.
