Selena Gomez – Lupus
Selena Gomez had been diagnosed with Lupus sometime between 2012 and 2014 and is one of the main reasons why the singer withdrew from the spotlight. The autoimmune disorder causes the patient’s immune system to attack its own tissues. In September 2017, the star took to Instagram to share that she had undergone a kidney transplant, due to Lupus related kidney damage.

Bella Hadid – Lyme Disease
The model revealed that she, her brother and her mother all suffer from Lyme Disease which is a bacterial infection that can cause nerve and heart problems, joint pains and memory loss. She revealed that because of the chronic autoimmune disorder, she suffers from bouts of anxiety and depression, which have impacted her life a great deal, “ I would just be in excruciating and debilitating mental and physical pain, and I didn’t know why.”

Celine Dion – Stiff-Person Syndrome
The French Canadian singer and celebrity took to social media to let fans and well wishers know about her medical condition. Her shocking announcement on social media revealed that she was suffering from a rare neurological disorder, with no known cure. Stiff Person Syndrome is believed to cause muscle spasms and has led to difficulties in walking and singing, which is why the singer had to postpone her tour dates. The syndrome is so rare that it only affects one in a million people.

Fawad Khan was only 17 when he was diagnosed with Diabetes. The chronic illness, which affects how the body turns food into energy, isn’t rare and is treatable. However, it has led to health concerns for the actor. While trying to bulk up for his role in The Legend of Maula Jatt, his kidneys suffered the brunt of the weight gain because of his illness.
Hina Altaf – Depression
One of the first Pakistani actors to open up about her mental health struggles, Hina Altaf revealed that she suffered from severe depression. She revealed in an interview that growing up with a schizophrenic mother negatively impacted her mental health and made her depression worse and she eventually had to leave home for her peace of mind. She did, however, credit her doctor for helping her on her journey to recovery and understanding her illness.
Iman Ali – Multiple Sclerosis
Iman Ali had revealed that she was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis back in 2019. MS is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord and on World Multiple Sclerosis Day she explained her symptoms and how she wasn’t going to let her illness stop her in anyway, “My speech, movements, everything is impacted. But I am fighting on, like all the other patients who are living with this disease.”

Salman Khan – Trigeminal Neuralgia
The Bollywood celebrity suffers from a medical condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia which is also known as tic douloureux. It is a type of chronic pain disorder that involves sudden, severe facial pain. Salman Khan had opened up about his medical condition in 2001 and explained, “There is a flex and hoarseness in my voice, it’s not because I am drunk, I don’t drink during Ramadan, it’s because of this ailment. I’m doing fine. It’s just that now, I had no choice but to pay attention to my health.”
Varun Dhawan – Vestibular Hypofunction
The actor revealed how his medical condition, which is when the inner ear part of your balance system is not working properly, took him by surprise, “Recently, I just shut down. I didn’t know what had happened to me. I had this thing called vestibular hypofunction, (where) basically your balance goes off. But I just pushed myself so hard. We are just running in this race; nobody is asking why. I think there is a greater purpose (why) we are all here. I am trying to find mine, and hopefully, people will find theirs.”
