KARACHI: Despite the controversy
surrounding the event, the 8th Hum Awards 2022 took place in Toronto with a bang. The pandemic had caused the awards ceremony to be delayed by two years and so the event sought to cover dramas that took place over that span. With the the list of winners from the Hum Awards out, it does not really come as a surprise about which dramas dominated the awards show this year!
To absolutely no one’s surprise but to everyone’s delight, Ahmed Ali Akbar swept away the awards in both the categories chosen by the jury and by popular vote, for his role in and as Parizaad
.
Iqra Aziz was announced as the best female actor chosen by the jury for her role as Ameera in Raqeeb Se
.
Ayeza Khan won the award for her role in Chupke Chupke.
Adeel Afzal managed to win over audiences as Ahmed Nasaaz in Parizaad and so it comes as no surprise that he bagged this award.
Saboor Aly, for her role as the trans character Bubbly/Dilawar, won the best female supporting actor role.
Everyone loved watching Meenu and Fazi’s antic on screen when Chupke Chupke aired in Ramadan and so it came as no surprise that Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt were the winners in this category for the Hum Awards.
The winners in this Hum Awards category were a no brainer! Ahsan Khan gave us all the creeps when he portrayed the vile Muraad in Qissa Meherbano Ka
and so it made sense that he bagged the best actor in a negative role. Similarly, Shahzad Sheikh in Phaans
was someone who we loathed which goes to show just how well he portrayed his character.
When you have a wonderfully written character like Hajra and when you have one of the most talented actors such as Sania Saeed playing that character, of course they are going to leave a lasting impact!
We weren’t kidding when we said one drama dominated the awards ceremony and that was Parizaad. The drama was crowned the best drama not just by the jury but by the viewers at home!
How does she do it and can we pull it off?
Join us in celebrating these incredible women who are crushing it in life and we're crushing…
Yea, we’re trying to make a point. WILL YOU GET IT?
