Huda Kattan has had enough of photoshop, over editing, and not showing enough realness


KARACHI: Huda Beauty has recently launched its latest makeup product, i.e., GloWish. The product enhances skin tone and adds a natural glow to the face. It also helps tone it down and keep products to a minimum with its light coverage. It seems as though Huda Beauty is focused on nullifying impossible beauty standards set by society. Recently, the beauty guru, makeup artist, and the founder of the brand Huda Kattan took to her Instagram and addressed the issue.

She wrote, “We’ve had ENOUGH of the over-editing, photoshop and not showing enough realness!!! So we thought we’d look in the mirror and start with ourselves. Here is a not so “perfect” photo from our GloWish campaign shoot and I thought it would be really interesting to show you guys what it would have looked like had we chosen to photoshop and try to sell unrealistic beauty expectations.”

She had also posted a tutorial earlier, on how to use her new product. In the caption, she once again added that no retouches or filters had been added to the video.

“The face, skin & body in this video have NOT been retouched or edited, no filter has been used either.” She went on to add how she herself has grown more comfortable showing her real skin, without any makeup. “I was so inspired after we launched Wishful and after FINALLY being comfortable showing my skin for what it is-no photoshop or makeup, I thought, why does it have to be one or the other? If I don’t want to full glam, why is the only option no glam?! Well, something that is the perfect in-between and actually works for your skin!”

GloWish was launched on June 1st. The look it aims to create is a natural, soft glam finish, that is easy to carry and can be worn on a daily basis.
