British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom have stepped in to provide support to the family of Zohra Shah, an 8-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by her employers in Rawalpindi.
Makhdoom took to her Instagram to speak up on the case and said she was in touch with Zohra’s family. The couple has started a child protection fund under the Amir Khan foundation. You can visit and donate here: https://justgiving.com/campaign/zohrashah
Makhdoom wrote in her IG story that “The father has told us he has 6 kids… the father sent the daughter (Zohra Shah) to Islamabad with her Khala (aunty) to study there. The khala then put Zohra Shah to work… where she was beaten to death.”
Khan also took to Instagram to announce the child protect fund and said, “We have assured them that we will get justice for Zohra, and ensured them that her siblings will receive a good education.”
