KARACHI: If there is one Pakistani actor who had fans waiting for his drama debut, it is Bilal Ashraf. While he did make his small screen debut alongside Mahira Khan with telefilm Aik Hai Nigar in 2021, and ventured into production with Khaab Toot Jatay Hain the same year, Ashraf was yet to star in a drama. Soon enough, Ashraf announced that he will be making his drama debut with Ehteshamuddin’s Yunhi. Starring alongside Ashraf as the leading lady is none other than Maya Ali for the drama that is set to air on Hum Tv from February 5.
The teasers reveal that Maya Ali will be playing the role of Pakeezah, a modern girl who returns to Pakistan after some time abroad while Ashraf will be seen as David. The two seem to share an interesting chemistry, with Pakeezah first suggesting they get married as an ‘experiment’ only for the two of them to fall in love eventually.
Drama serial Yunhi may be Bilal Ashraf’s first time performing for a mainstream small screen project but Maya Ali has continued to be one of the audience’s favourite actors. Marking her return to the world of dramas after a 4 year gap with Pehli Si Muhabbat in 2021, her last project, Jo Bichar Gaye, received massive praise as well.
With expectations high, it will be interesting to see what team Yunhi has to offer to their fans.
