Sar-e-Rah to tell gripping stories of courage and resilience

KARACHI: If there is one actor we can trust to always pick the most important scripts and play the most courageous roles, it is Saba Qamar. From her films to her dramas, the actor is known for giving her audiences something new each time. And that is exactly what Qamar is ready to do with her upcoming drama serial Sar-e-Rah. Joining her on the project that is set to air from February 4 are Muneeb Butt, Sunita Marshall, Hareem Farooq and Saboor Aly, amongst others.

Muneeb Butt earlier announced that he will be playing the role of the first trans Assistant Commissioner in the drama. The teasers reveal the character’s struggles as a child stuck amongst people adamant on exploiting him and into an adult who fights for his place in society.

Sunita Marshall, who is also playing a brave role in the ongoing Pinjra, seems to be playing a doctor, who adopts a child after her own husband reveals that he cannot become a father. However, the new mother struggles to make a place for her adopted child in her husband’s life.

Saboor Aly’s role highlights an important issue as well, that is of edited videos going viral. A social media star, Rameen finds herself in trouble when a fake video of hers makes rounds on social media.

Naturally, tying all of these characters and stories together is one common factor, that is Saba Qamar. A taxi driver, her role looks unconventional but inspiring. How will all these characters cross paths and come together to shatter stereotypes? We will definitely be watching to find out.
