KARACHI: One bandwagon that many local celebrities seem to be jumping on is introducing their own clothing, fragrance or skincare line. Perhaps it is passion or the ongoing pandemic which forced people to explore more options, but a prominent part of celebrity culture in Pakistan has begun to be defined by businesses. Listed below are a few celebrities who turned entrepreneurs fairly recently.
Mushk Kaleem
While model Mushk Kaleem has been making her mark in the fashion industry for a couple of years, it wasn’t until March 2021 that she ventured into business. The model turned entrepreneur introduced a line of scented candles by the name of Musk by Mushk. So far, the line has eight scents with each candle presented in a sustainable marble container.
Ayesha Omar
Another model plus actor to start a business in March 2021 was Ayesha Omar. Her beauty and personal care line, Ayesha O Beauty, focuses on all-natural, organic skin-care products for both, men and women. Some of the items listed on her website are lip balms, face masks, serums and toners.
Faysal Qureshi
After women-run businesses, we also have a male celebrity in the form of Faysal Qureshi who recently brought a US-based fragrance line to Pakistan. Run by the name of Encounter Scents, a range of fragrances are available for men and women that have been endorsed by local celebrities as well.
Maya Ali
Actor Maya Ali had quite a few surprises in store for her fans this year as she made her television comeback and also introduced her own clothing line. Pret-A-Porter features festive eastern outfits for women with Minal Khan sporting one of their looks on her dholki earlier this month.
Sadaf Kanwal
The latest celebrity to turn entrepreneur is Sadaf Kanwal with the model and actor having made the announcement a month ago. However, more details are yet to be revealed about her clothing line, Sadaf Kanwal Fashion, including a launch date and the type of clothing her brand will offer.
