KARACHI: Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in to star alongside Nayanthara Kurian for Atlee Kumar’s upcoming directorial film Jawaan. Although South Indian cinema has not collaborated much with Bollywood, it seems as though, Shah Rukh khan may be keen on bridging that gap. One of his not so earlier films with Rohit Shetty – Chennai Express is set and shot in South India, while two of the more recent films he did, i.e. Dear Zindagi and Dilwale have both been shot as well as set in Goa, a coastal state in Southwestern India.

Film critic Sumit Kadel took to his Twitter to give his praises to the director. “Superstar #ShahRukhKhan commenced the shooing of his next #Atlee directorial tentatively titled #Jawaan. If director Atlee Kumar’s previous outings are anything to go by, his film with SRK is going to be a visual spectacle MASS BONANZA with terrific music & BGM. The ensemble cast is superb.”

According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh Khan will be playing a double role in the upcoming film. The film has been planned as a Pan-Indian collaboration with stars from both North as well as South coming together to curate a film with the best of their abilities. Marathi actress Rutuja, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, and Sunil Grover are set to play pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to officially announce his next series of films. He is doing Pathan, Atlee, and Rajkumar Hirani’s next and will also have a cameo in Tiger 3.
