KARACHI: Five years and a pandemic has gone by since Karan Johar did what he does best and that is release a blockbuster hit. His last venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was a huge success but was followed by a five-year hiatus. However, the director is back with a bang. Taking to Instagram, Karan Johar dropped a teaser for his new movie titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and it has gotten fan buzzing with excitement.
While the teaser doesn’t reveal much other than a catchy tune, Johar’s caption lets us in on a few select details. He wrote, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it!” After revealing the name of the movie he went on to let his fans know that the two leads for his movie were none other than Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. “Headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy,” he added. And the final tidbit he let fans in on was when the movie was set to release, “This anokhi kahani (unusual story) is coming to your screens in 2022!”

The lead actors also took to social media to express their excitement. Ali Bhatt shared two posts about the movie. She shared, “A love story that is going to be far from the usual.” Ranveer Singh tweeted his excitement mirroring what Bhatt wrote, “Hero aur heroine ke beech hai ek anokha kisam ka pyaar (An unusual sort of love between the hero and heroine)!” The two also went on to inform fans that there would be a cast reveal soon.

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt proved to be a force to reckon with in their hit film Gully Boy and so it is no wonder that they were cast together in the new Karan Johar movie. Fans will now have to wait anxiously for 2022.
