KARACHI: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently moved to California in 2020 and it has been widely assumed that the couple is set to establish a firm footing in Hollywood. According to Variety, the couple has been going around pitching ideas for a project.
Although the concept behind their pitch is still under wraps, it was revealed that the couple busied itself with meetings in June with various networks. So far, it is still not known whether the idea will be a scripted or a non-scripted (documentary) one, or something entirely different. However, what we do know is that the couple would like to be joint producers for the project, according to a source with information on the matter.
Earlier in 2019, fans had shown concern when Meghan Markle tearfully gave an interview to ITV. Her time as a young mother and a newlywed was definitely an overwhelming time for her.
The same fans have expressed their joy as the couple moves forward towards becoming more financially independent from the British royal family. However, some fans have their own interesting assumptions to pitch in:
One of the venues where the couple pitched their idea is NBC Universal where a meeting was set up between the couple and some of the top executives at the company, including Bonnie Hammer, chairman NBC Universal Content Studios. Hammer has known Markle from her years as an actress on Suits.
As stated by Variety, a source close to Markle has mentioned that she has absolutely no plans to act and will not be acting in the project.
Representatives for the couple have not commented on the matter.
Meghan Markle’s first job in Hollywood was in the form of narrating a docu-series for Disney Plus, where she narrated Elephants that premiered in April. The movie aimed to benefit the organization Elephants Without Borders, which works towards protecting elephants in Botswana.
In June, the two signed with a high profile New York-based speaking agency, Harry Walker Agency. The agency is known to represent the Obamas and the Clintons as well. The couple plans on engaging in issues pertaining to society, environment and mental health.
While prior to giving up his title in 2019, prince Harry has announced a collaboration with Oprah Winfrey on an Apple TV+ docuseries addressing mental health. Earlier this month, Harry also made a surprise appearance in Netflix’s trailer of Rising Phoenix.
From what we know so far, the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be having a good time in Hollywood and their future looks fairly bright.
