KARACHI: If there are two actors who currently seem to be on a roll, it is Saba Qamar and Ahsan Khan. With both of them having one movie each released on Eid and Kamli and Rehbra releasing in June, the two are also set to share the small screen together for drama serial Fraud. Joining them in the project is their Paani Jaisa Pyaar costar, Mikaal Zulfiqar. Earlier, we got a sneak peek into Ahsan Khan's character who clearly plays the role of the fraud in the drama. Now, we have a little more insight into the other two lead characters as well.
Mikaal Zulfiqar’s introduction is brief but gives us enough context. He seems to be a single father who is recently separated or divorced. Raising a young child alone and explaining the absence of her mother will be interesting aspects to look out for.
Saba Qamar, on the other hand, is the daughter of a father who wants to empower his girls, and give them the best lives. He also expects to find nothing short of the best partners for their daughters for that is what they deserve. However, little does he know that the man his daughter gets married to is a fraud. Another teaser shows Qamar stranded on a railway station by her husband who has clearly run away. Another character reveals that this is just what Ahsan Khan’s character does. In fact, he has fooled eight families the same way.
The storyline of Fraud has the potential to hit home for many families who have been swindled in similar ways. However, one cannot help but think how Mikaal Zulfiqar’s character is going to fit into the equation. Will he be the one who helps Saba Qamar move on eventually? We will find out once the drama goes on air on May 14.
