Ali Noor gets real on Instagram

KARACHI: Just this week, we saw Will Smith encourage body positivity as he shared pictures and videos of his belly. Smith looked drastically different from the tall and slim man his fans are used to seeing on screen but that did not hold the actor back from appreciating all that his body has done for him. As Smith promised himself to change the way he looks so that he can feel better, a celebrity closer to home recently shared a similar message. Sharing shirtless pictures of himself on Instagram, Ali Noor got real with his followers.

The two pictures he shared are dated 17th April and 6th May, only 20 days apart but Noor’s body looks visibly different in both the shots.

“I have been battling with a lot of things for many years.I am so good at bluffing myself on so many levels. I realised my life has been a fearful existence with a deep sense of insecurity, low esteem and confusion,” the singer began. “But I’ve always believed miracles can happen. They have happened to me a lot.”

Continuing to make a point which perhaps many of us can relate to, Noor revealed how he has been his own biggest enemy. “I just never knew I am the true enemy of my miracles. So I prayed for a last chance. One last attempt to figure out.” Referring to his physical journey and his bodily transformation, he wrote how “I was shown a glimpse of humility and surrender. This time around I just couldn’t ignore. And I also saw a glimpse of my ego and what havoc it can do.”

Perhaps when we are angry at the world or when we want to distance ourselves from the rest, we punish ourselves the most. Our bodies are the capsules which stay with us regardless of whatever happens but more often than not, our physical states also suffer at the hands of our mental states.

Ali Noor, however, has experienced a miracle and feels motivated to change the way he looks and feels for the better. “I need a lot of prayers to start this new journey,” he requested his followers.

Here is to hoping that everyone who is struggling at this moment learns to love themselves and comes out stronger and healthier!
