Bushra Ansari hits back at online trolls

KARAHI: Bushra Ansari has had a rough few weeks. From the trauma of losing her sister to COVID-19 to a messy war of words with  TikTok star Jannat Mirza, fans were happy to see her breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy herself at Shahmir Shunaid’s wedding festivities. However, trolls were quick to jump in and damper the mood with their unsolicited comments which mocked Bushra Ansari on her age while others decided to bring the Jannat Mirza tiff back into question in reference to her recent dance video. But it seems as though Bushra Ansari has had enough and decided to hit back at her trolls with a statement of her own.

In an Instagram caption, she opened about about how the loss of her sister impacted her. “I was in a deep grief from last 3 months and that loss is going to be in our hearts till our last breathe.” She went on to say that it was her friends and family who encouraged her to go out and enjoy the mehndi function. She explained that Shahmir Shunaid, who is the grandson of founder of HUM TV Sultana Siddiqui, is family to her. She explained that the wedding was obviously a big deal to Sultana Siddiqui who Ansari considers to be “like a mother elder sister n mentor” and so she “just tried to be a part of her khushi (happiness).”

She called out trolls who mocked her for her age saying, “I don’t have any regrets if I am over 60..so this is a cheap weapon of telling elders that u are old n u ve no right to be happy..why not ?” She also went on to say, “This is the best age to enjoy life when u are done with all your duties and alhamdullillah I ve achieved so much at this age.” She went on to question the younger generation about why feel “insecure” of the elder generation.

Bushra Ansari also had words for the trolls who criticized her for her dance video, she wrote, “I m not answerable to any faceless troller because they never leave any one even after wearing hijab.” However, she did clarify her stance on the Jannat Mirza controversy saying, “My comment about Islam was just about respect for other religions. God forbid if somebody wears any symbol of our religion..how would we feel.our kids shud know what does “cross” means.”
