KARACHI: When Marvel got Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy onboard for Ms. Marvel that was not it. As the universe expands, it cast Kumail Nanjiani as one of the Eternals and more recently, Nimra Bucha in Ms. Marvel and Kamala Khan’s mother. There have now been speculations that Marvel will be getting Farhan Akhtar to play another pivotal role in one of their projects. In fact, they already have him filming for it according to reports from The Quint, The Indian Express, and NDTV.
According to The Indian Express, Akhtar has already left Mumbai for Bangkok, Thailand. While the name of the project has been under the wraps, and whether it is a Disney+ series or a feature-length film. All that is known at the moment is that Farhan Akhtar is at a Marvel Studio shooting for the film. The details pertaining to his role have also not been disclosed as yet.
Marvel Studios is behind the biggest film franchise of all time, Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it is not known if the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara star is filming for MCU or an independent Marvel film, there is reason to believe Akhtar being a part of Ms. Marvel. There has been no official confirmation on the name of the project, it was earlier reported that a part of Ms. Marvel might be shot in Thailand.
While he ‘hopefully’ adds his charm to Marvel, Farhan Akhtar is currently awaiting the release of his film Toofan. The Sports Drama has been directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who also directed Bhaag Milkha Bhaag starring Akhtar in a lead role. Toofan will see Akhtar donning on the role of a goon from Dongri, whose character shifts to become a national-level boxer.
