KARACHI: Fast fashion may have us all believing otherwise but certain looks and styles are known for never going out of style. Trends from the 90s that we swore we would never be caught in again have found a way to resurface, much to the horror of many. However, with fashion there is also a very thin line between inspiration and blatant copying. And that is the question that is being raised with regards to two names you never would have thought you would hear together: Sridevi and Kylie Jenner.
The makeup mogul who recently celebrated her 25th birthday, was photographed wearing a shimmery silver shirt with a cowl neck and a hood at the back in London during Travis Scott’s concert. The shirt is a Paco Rabanne creation from his 1997-1998 fall winter collection. However, while many might not know who Paco Rabanne is, they did point out the attire looked eerily familiar.
As it turns out, Kylie Jenner isn’t the first person to wear the look but rather it was Sridevi who modeled it first back in the 90s! And quite naturally, fans of the late Bollywood actor took to social media to point out the very same. Some pointed out that the outfits were so similar, right down to the makeup and so Kylie Jenner must have copied Sridevi.
The comparisons drew people to conclude that the beloved actor was way ahead of her time in terms of fashion.
However, some users were not convinced and put it off as a coincidence.
Whether it was a coincidence or whether Kylie Jenner copied Sridevi is a question that remains unanswered, it seems as though the former cannot stay out of the spotlight.
