Ayesha Omar set to star in movie based on serial killer Javed Iqbal

KARACHI: Ayesha Omar seems to be able to do it all. But between launching her own skincare brand Ayesha O and reprising her role in the infamous sitcom Bulbulay, the actor has picked up a new project. It’s no secret that  Ayesha Omar is known for playing a diverse range of roles and her new film is no different. This time fans will get to see her in the lead role in a movie based on one of Pakistan’s most heinous criminals  Javed Iqbal. The movie is titled The Untold Story of a Serial Killer: Javed Iqbal and has been written and directed by Abu Aleeha. The movie is be produced under the banner of KK Films by Javed Ahmad.

Ayesha Omar, for her role in the new film, is going to be playing “an intrepid and determined police officer” who will be in charge of the investigation to not only track down the killer but also find his accomplices. Starring opposite Omar, Yasir Hussain will be playing Javed Iqbal. Considering how dark the content for the movie is bound to be, Ayesha Omar on her part is excited for her new film. Commenting on her role, she acknowledged that it’s bound to be a challenge but one that she’s certainly looking forward to.

The movie will tell the story of Pakistan’s most notorious serial killer who was accused and found guilty of sexually abusing and murdering more than 100 children in Lahore between the years 1998 to 1999. The case became even more disturbing as details emerged about how he not only killed the children but dismembered them and dissolved their bodies in acid. He was eventually caught and sentenced to death in the same way that he killed his victims.

We can’t wait to see what the movie has in store for us. We hope it also carries some awareness and lesson in addition to just depicting the story.
