Celebrities remember Dilip Kumar

KARACHI: After the deaths of Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh, Bollywood has lost yet another star. News of veteran actor Dilip Kumar passing away broke out today. The actor died at the age of 98 in Mumbai after a prolonged illness. Fans and celebrities across borders have been remembering and paying tribute to the late actor since then.

Amitabh Bachchan remembered his former costar in a tweet, “An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written , it shall always be ‘before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar’ .. My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss .. Deeply saddened.” The two had shared the screen for films like Shakti.

Anupam Kher, too, took to Twitter to dedicate a video to the late Dilip Kumar. “The legend lives on!! There is and there will always be a part of #DilipKumar Saab in every Indian actor for generations to come! His performances were like magic. Thank you Sir for those amazing moments i could spend with you! You taught me so much about life, living & acting!” Kher wrote for his Saudagar costar.

Dilip Kumar was remembered by Anil Kapoor for the place he holds in the actor’s heart and the ties that the two families shared. “Our world is a little less bright today because one of our brightest stars has left us for the heavens. Dilip Sahab was very close to my father and I had the tremendous honor of sharing screen-space with him in 3 of my most memorable films…He was and will always be the finest & greatest actor of our industry for me…he has inspired generations of artists. Rest in peace Dilip Sahab. You remain in our minds and hearts forever,” Kapoor captioned his post while sharing some memorable pictures of him with Kumar.

Amongst others to dedicate a few words to the late actor are Akshay Kumar, Madhuria Dixit, Farah Khan, and Sidharth Malhotra and more.

Upon hearing the news of Dilip Kumar passing away, Pakistani figures, too, have been recognising the late actor for his contribution to the world of cinema.
