KARACHI: Hundreds of Pakistani dramas churn out every year on various channels. With a set of new dramas going on air, a lineup of upcoming dramas are usually in the making. Even during the pandemic, there was a small break during the first initial strict lockdown but then there was no stopping. Ramazan special Chupke Chupke that couldn’t air due to delay in shoot last year is currently on air while Taana Baana is another special airing during the month. And then there are plays that are currently being shot that we are eagerly waiting for. The list includes Qasim Ali Mureed directorial Neeli Zinda Hai, Gumn which is being directed by Sarmad Khoosat and drama serial Pardes that marks Marina Khan’s return as a director.
The upcoming drama has an ensemble cast including Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, Affan Waheed, Bushra Ansari, Sarmad Khoosat, Atiqa Odho, Gohar Rasheed and Jenaan Hussain.
None of the cast members have openly spoken about the upcoming drama. However, they have been posting pictures from the set, hinting that a surprise awaits viewers. Atiqa Odho recently shared a picture with Marina Khan, stating, “After years us two #oldfriends are working on something together again.”
Given the super talented cast and director, we are hoping this will be a breath of fresh air amidst run-of-the-mill projects that usually dominate the small screen. Currently being shot, Pardes is expected to go on air on ARY Digital while it is being produced under the banner of Six Sigma Entertainment.
