Daal chaawal might just save the world

KARACHI: Daal chaawal is considered a staple in every desi household. But little did we know that having daal chawal can actually save the world. Or did we?

A report published by AFP, titled Lentils with a side of rice: the save-the-world diet? reveals that the desi staple might just be making its way to dining tables across the world by 2050 – which basically means we are way ahead of the times… in some situations at least. It also stated a daily meal plan that health and environment experts are urging people to adapt the diet, to sustain the worldwide population of over 10 billion people. They also explained that it could prevent up to 11.6 million premature deaths per year.

Desis – obviously – are ecstatic over the news.
