KARACHI: The reunion episode of pop culture’s favourite show Friends has been perhaps one of the most awaited episodes. Delayed by the pandemic, the filming was pushed back until now. Finally the episode’s filming has wrapped up and our favorite group of friends is ready to grace our screens. However, the cast has been very vague and tight lipped about what the episode has in store for us.
What we do know is that the original cast David Schwimmer (Ross), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) and Courteney Cox (Monica) have all been signed on for the revival. The cast will also act as executive producers along with the creators of the show.
The filming of the reunion special took place on Stage 24, the original soundstage of the Warner Bros studio in California. Fans will be delighted to know that the revived set includes the much-loved water fountain from the show’s introduction as well as elements of Monica’s apartment including the empty picture frame and sofa. The theme song, “I’ll be there for you” is also making a comeback.
What we don’t know is what our favorite characters are up to. David Schwimmer, in an interview on the Graham Norton show, said, “I’ll be myself. I’ll be David. We’re not in character…we’re all ourselves the real people.” However, he furthered, “there is one section, I don’t want to give away, where we all read something.” Jennifer Anniston reiterated the same statement while speaking to Variety magazine, “I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am,” she said. “Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really.”
Irrespective of what the upcoming episode has in store for us, fans cannot wait for the release and are anxiously waiting for the episode to drop.
