Osman Khalid Butt, Nicole Kidman and others participate in Elf on the Shelf challenge

KARACHI: A new challenge on social media has celebrities from all over the world jumping onto the bandwagon. Inspired by the concept of Elf on the Shelf, some have titled it as the ‘My Elf’ challenge in which celebrities are posting edited pictures of themselves with a pun in the caption. Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas ritual during which many parents bring a toy elf to their homes so that it can observe the behaviour of their children. The celebrity trend began with Elizabeth Banks sharing a picture of herself with a miniature picture of Tom Hanks. The pun ‘Hanks on Banks’ picked up as other celebrities began to post their own pictures as well.

Osman Khalid Butt jumped onto the bandwagon as he shared a picture of himself with musician Moby edited on his shoulder.

‘Oprah on Chopra’ also came up as Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra participated in the challenge.

Chopra’s brother-in-law, Joe Jonas, also came up with his own version of the My Elf challenge.

Amongst other celebrities who participated in the Elf of the Shelf challenge are Mark Ruffalo, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway.
