KARACHI: Winter is coming! We’re excited. But not about what’s going to become of our skin soon because dry weather plus pollution is a deadly combination. Your skin can end up looking like it is in dire need to get hydrated. While several makeup tricks can help you conceal it, why not try to fix the problem from its root cause instead?
Here are a few tips and tricks which will allow you to breeze through the season with your skin hydrated, appearing radiant and glowy.
People can sometimes go wrong with this one if they do not know which moisturizer is best suited for their skin type. However, for any kind of skin i.e., sensitive, oily, dry, combination, or even normal skin, moisturizers with hydrating ingredients work best.
Another thing you may be doing wrong is possibly using a moisturizer to “moisturize”. A moisturizer is supposed to “lock” the moisture in your skin, making it appear more hydrated and fresh. Always apply it to damp skin. Do the same while applying a body lotion.
Using water-based moisturizers is another healthy practice, to add glow to your skin.
A warm shower during this time of the year feels incredible. However, your skin may not feel so incredible afterward. Hot water pulls out moisture from your skin, leaving you dry. Use lukewarm water to shower instead and try using room temperature tap water to wash your face. Quickly moisturize while your skin is still a little damp.
There are a number of natural remedies for hydrated skin that you can opt for, which won’t cost you as much as investing in a cosmetic product.

Try using an eye cream and consult a dermatologist to recommend you one. But what will really save the day is getting a good night’s sleep. The skin uses this time to make new collagen. Your blood flow to the skin increases, because in resting position several other organs of the body do not require much of it. This collagen ultimately prevents sagging. More collagen means the skin is plumper and less likely to wrinkle.
It is always okay to take out time for yourself, for your body and feel better in your skin!
