Millie Bobby Brown in Enola Holmes makes us revisit the classics

KARACHI: Netflix has just released the first look of Enola Holmes and fans are left swooning over the cast.

Scheduled to be released on September 23rd, 2020 on Netflix, Enola Holmes is an upcoming British mystery film based on the book series of the same name written by Nancy Springer. The film has been directed by Harry Bradbeer and adapted into a screenplay by Jack Thorne.

While the young actress stars as the lead, Millie Bobby Brown has also served as a producer for this film.

Some other notable stars include Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Sam Claflin as Mycroft Holmes and Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes.

Here is what we know so far about what the story aims to unfold judging by the books: Enola Holmes is a teenaged younger sister of famous detective Sherlock Holmes who is twenty years her senior. After their mother disappears, Enola’s brothers, against her will, Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes plan on sending her to a finishing school. However, using the hidden funds provided by her mother along with an elaborate cypher to communicate with her, Enola decides to run away to London where she establishes her own private detective career to conduct investigations for missing persons.

In the upcoming film, Enola is set to unravel a dangerous conspiracy surrounding a mysterious young lord. Enola’s character is written as someone who always outwits her brothers and keeps ahead of them. On the other hand, Sherlock and Mycroft are simply shown to be determined to enforce their expectations onto her.

Nancy Springer’s books have borrowed the settings and characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series, conceiving only the character of Enola Holmes. The film will be a period drama like its other counterpart as well.

The trailer has not only gotten appreciation for showing a different perspective, but its star cast is also something people are looking forward to:
