KARACHI: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty opened up about receiving all kinds of threats and cyber abuse following the sudden demise of her boyfriend, fellow actor Sushant Singh last month.
Chakraborty said she remained silent but decided to speak up after receiving rape threats.
She took to Instagram where she shard a screenshot of a DM she had received and accompanied it with the caption: “I was called a gold digger, I remained quiet. I was called a murderer, I kept quiet. I was slut shamed, I kept quiet. But how did any silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me raped and murdered if I don’t kill myself?”
She added that no one should be subject to this kind of toxicity and harassment and tagged cyber crime helplines to take action. The account she tagged and screenshotted no longer exists.
Her latest post came two days after she opened up about losing Sushant, exactly a month after the actor was found dead and presumed to have taken his life.
In a heartfelt post, Rhea wrote, “Still struggling to face my emotions. I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore.”
