People sang the national anthem from their balconies for Pakistan Day

KARACHI: A Facebook event page invited Pakistanis to come out to their balconies and roofs at 6 pm on Pakistan Day, 23rd March, in an attempt to beat the gloominess everyone’s facing, rightfully so.

No doubt inspired by the videos emerging from Italy, the page reached people all over Facebook and Instagram and what came forth was extremely heartwarming. Critics and cynics have criticized the videos, saying that only rich, privilege people can afford to sing on their balconies and not worry about where their next meal will come from. But at a time like this, every act of resilience counts.

Stars such as Zoe Viccaji, Sarwat Gillani and Ayesha Omar uploaded videos of them joining the movement.
