Hum Style Awards 2020: the good, the bad and the ugly

KARACHI: This weekend just saw the Hum Style Awards 2020 take place in Karachi at the Expo Centre and naturally, a lot of celebrity presence in one space means a lot of style, fashion and well-groomed men and women. Here’s what the stars wore to the red carpet:

Yay

Zara Abid got everything right with this look: the minimal aesthetic, the winged eyeliner, the sassy pose. She was by far one of the best dressed stars on the red carpet.

Nausheen Shah and Mira Sethi dressed to impress, although Nausheen could have dialed down on either the accessories or the hairdo.

It’s a massive dress but Zara Noor looked simple and graceful. The colour looks beautiful on her and we love that she has zero accessories!

Adnan Siddiqui is rocking the monochrome look plus that high-neck isn’t something that everyone can easily pull off.

We would have liked a different clutch but the sari, the hair, the makeup- everything else is spot on for Mahnoor Baloch.

Nay

Ayesha Omar usually kills it on the red carpet but this look isn’t it. Something about the bodice is messy and unkempt.

We love the colour on Momina Mustehsan but perhaps some element needed to be done away with.

Sonya Hussyn looks ethereal and angelic thanks to that hair and makeup but the ruffles are a little out of place.

Naveen Waqar is stunning but that dress, not so much.

Usman Mukhtar looks older than his age in this look. Perhaps a better fitted suit would have done him justice.

Mansha Pasha’s ensemble was confusing enough but the polka dotted stockings made it worse.

Kiran Malik is usually so well put together but she seems to be drowning under all that print.

The couples

Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane played it so safe that they didn’t leave us much to comment on.

We would have loved to see a more minimal hairdo on Hania Amir while Asim Azhar should have used the opportunity to push some younger street chic at the Hum Style Awards 2020.

Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Ali are picture perfect in their matching black ensembles and easily the most stylish couple of the evening.
