A round up of some of the most powerful images from protests in India

KARACHI: As protests increase over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, so do the ways in which people are trying to draw attention to the cause. Thousands of Indians have taken to the streets to protest the Indian government’s law which critics say aims to marginalize Muslims.

The CAA law will allow only non-Muslim refugees from three countries: Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Critics fear that this will marginalise the Muslims who are currently living in the country, does not take those Muslims into account who might also be facing persecution (Ahmedis and Shia Muslims) and also, a secular democracy should not be making such a decision based on faith.

Twitter is exploding with images from the protest happening around the country and thousands, Hindus and Muslims alike, have taken to the streets to protest.
