Mahira Khan explains why women are afraid of using the word ‘breast’

KARACHI: It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we should all be doing our part in raising awareness for an illness that affects nearly 90,000 Pakistani women every year, according to Pink Ribbon Pakistan.

Which is what Mahira Khan was doing on Twitter yesterday. The actress took to social media to share her results on a quiz put up on Mashion, her new fashion and lifestyle website. The quiz asked questions pertaining to breast cancer and how it can be tested and who it can happen to among other things.

Unfortunately, some Twitter troll clearly couldn’t get past the fact that breasts can be spoken about without it being a sexual conversation. Khan ended up replying to the troll, who has now deleted the offensive tweet (and we don’t want to repeat what was said either), and took the opportunity to address the real issue instead of losing her temper.

Thanks for always being awesome, Mahira!
