Our currency has plunged to Rs128 against the US dollar and life just isn’t fair

KARACHI: Have your parents ever told you one of the many tales of simpler times when there was no Internet and the American dollar was valued at a couple of bucks? It sure does sound like a great time. Because ever since we’ve started understanding currency and economics, Pakistani rupee just keeps dropping like a deflated Bobo doll. I mean, it’s not just any drop. On Monday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that Pakistani currency has weakened by 5.3% to the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Monday. Yep, that’s right. This means that the dollar is now valued at Rs128. Let that sink in.

Anyway, now that you’re as shocked as we are. Let’s discuss a few things that are better off dropping instead of our currency.

1. The beat

Let the beat drop so we can party. But we can’t party if we’re broke so please keep the value of PKR up?

2. Weight

We don’t mind losing a couple pounds (not the currency) here and there but…

3. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Twitter followers

Seriously, he doesn’t need to be heard.

4. Temperature

Enough with the heat. Can we have some rain please?

5. Petrol prices

Cause the weather is perfect for long drives but our pockets can’t afford to put fuel in the car

6. Ali Zafar’s supporters

Drop. Drop. Drop.

7. Visa fee

Here’s wishing visa fees of all countries hit an all-time low.

We’re outta here.
