“How many women will it take?” – Meesha Shafi

KARACHI: Since the allegations first came forward, Meesha Shafi has been supporting the #MeToo movement with much dedication. She has also made a public appearance at the Women on Wheels Rally in Lahore, and was photographed alongside other feminist icons, such as Zenith Irfan and Khadija Siddiqi. But the singer has stayed mum regarding Ali Zafar on her Twitter account, which is a pretty commendable thing considering the kind of comments she has been receiving on her posts. One can’t imagine how Shafi has been resisting the urge to respond back to all abuse that has been hurled her way.

But it seems as though Shafi finally broke her silence at one tweet that was directed towards her. When someone asked her why she was only harassed by Ali Zafar in the industry and no one else, Shafi felt the need to highlight the other women who have come forward with their allegations against Zafar. “Half a dozen other women coming forward not enough for you all? How many will it take? Please share a number,” she tweeted.

On the other hand, Teefa in Trouble star Ali Zafar  has gone back to promoting his upcoming film and uploading videos of himself singing at a party ever since the allegations came forward.
