We try to figure out what Mahira Khan will wear at the Cannes film festival

KARACHI: Superstar Mahira Khan will be Pakistan’s ambassador for L’Oreal at Cannes Film festival this year. The Humsafar and Verna actress has proven herself on several different occasions: she’s the first Pakistani star to have entered Bollywood’s 100 crore club, (thanks to the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees); was the first to bag two awards at the Beirut Film Festival (International Recognition Award for her contribution to the Pakistani entertainment and Best Dressed), and now she’s the first Pakistani celebrity to rub shoulders with Hollywood and Bollywood big wigs on the coveted Cannes red carpet.

And of course, we cannot deny how fashion forward she is, based on some of her iconic red carpet looks that we’ve had the pleasure of seeing recently.

Naturally we’re all wondering what the star will ending up wearing.

Taking it upon ourselves, we’ve decided to go through some of Mahira’s older looks to figure out what the much-awaited appearance will look like. We’re sure that she’ll look great no matter what she wears because WE HEART MAHIRA!

1. Lux Style Awards, 2017

Mahira went for an elegant and simple black dress here, which she accessorised with bracelets and gold earrings. Perfection

2. Masala Awards, 2017

Rocking a beautiful pink gown but had her hair tied back. She obviously won’t be doing that for Cannes, right? She is representing L’Oreal’s hair care products after all.

3. Beirut Film Festival, 2017

The Nicolas Jebran couture gown that Mahira Khan wore in Beirut, coupled with saying ‘I love you’ in Arabic, is bound to have won some international hearts. This is the outfit that got her the Best Dressed award, FYI.

4. Lux Style Awards, 2018

Faraz Manan always does wonders and this white gharara had us floored! It was great for a Pakistani show. But will she be able to pull this off at Cannes?

5. Global Teacher Prize

This glamorous, red outfit was worn at the Global Teacher Prize ceremony last year. Can we have something like this, Mahira?
